The most significant sources of peridot gemstones in the world are found in the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation near Globe, Arizona, where Native Americans mine peridot. Tiny peridot crystals are sometimes found from the black sands of Hawaii. Peridot jewelry is most preferred when it is a lively lime green color. Peridot was formed into a chalice from which people drank medicines, and it was said that it intensified the effects of the drug.
